Aviation Background: Soloed in 1955 at Boeing Field, Seattle, Washington, in a Piper PA-15 Vagabond. Instructed during the winter months through college and crop dusted during the summers. U.S. Naval flight training as a Marine aviation cadet at Pensacola. Received wings at NAS Beeville, Texas, and went to MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, to fly A-4 Skyhawks with VMA-225. Flew from the carriers USS Antietam, USS Interpid, and USS Enterprise. 1964 started with Northwest Airlines and retired in 1996. Started flying competition in 1970 at Fond du Lac in the Pitts S-1C I started building in 1965. I averaged six or so contests per year during that time.

Aircraft: Flying a Pitts S-1T now but will go back to the Yak-55 for the next season and the AWAC in Sweden.
